Cord Blood Association extended ICT membership

Cord Blood Association (CBA) is a main international non-profit organization that brings together accredited public and private cord blood banks and industry professionals to promote the use of cord blood stem cells and perinatal tissues (umbilical cord, placenta) in the treatment of diseases and the development of medicine.

The Institute of Cell Therapy, as the first (since 2003) and the largest cryobank of Ukraine, has always been actively participating in the work of specialized international communities, and since 2020 is a member of the Cord Blood Association. In the conditions of a full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the Institute of Cell Therapy makes every effort to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the enterprise and to provide the citizens of Ukraine the only opportunity in their lives to preserve the umbilical cord blood and perinatal tissues (umbilical cord, placenta) of their newborns. Therefore, the Cord Blood Association extended the Institute of Cell Therapy membership in its organization. In the conditions of full-scale invasion the Center of Science of the Institute of Cell Therapy is working to develop new wound treatments using perinatal tissues (placenta, umbilical cord) and modern cell technologies to help injured soldiers.

The Institute of Cell Therapy expresses its gratitude to the Cord Blood Association, in particular to the President of the organization, Joan Kurtzberg, for the opportunity to continue participating in the educational projects of the Cord Blood Association and to contribute to the development of the world science on cryopreservation and the use of cord blood stem cells.
